Update 05/2026: Platform Maintenance, Reliability Improvements, LMS Planning, and AI Progress
May was a month of platform maintenance, technical troubleshooting, infrastructure reliability work, AI service improvements, and continued outreach for the Redacted Hosting mentoring program. We continued improving the systems behind Redacted Hosting while supporting users who rely on RH services for training, AI tools, coding support, and hosted applications.
This month’s work focused on keeping services maintained, improving reliability, supporting backups, updating core infrastructure, and preparing for a future LMS redeployment. We also continued outreach to onboard new users interested in mentoring and technical development.

Security and Reliability
This month included several important security and reliability improvements. Core platform services were reviewed, updated, and patched to maintain a stronger security posture. Additional maintenance was completed across public-facing and supporting services.
The identity and access environment also received an automation improvement to support safer and more repeatable maintenance. This helps reduce manual update risk and improves the team’s ability to keep critical services current.
Reliability was also a major focus. The environment experienced infrastructure interruptions that affected some services. Power distribution, system load, and service recovery procedures were reviewed and adjusted. These events reinforced the importance of ongoing reliability planning as platform workloads continue to grow.
LMS and Training Updates
A major planning initiative began for a full LMS redeployment. The goal is to rebuild the LMS from the ground up while keeping user data secure, available, and protected.
This technical refresh is intended to bring the LMS closer to modern DevOps standards by using a more portable, repeatable, and maintainable deployment model. At this time, users are not expected to see any quality-of-service changes because the project is still in the planning phase.
The long-term goal is a cleaner, faster, more secure, and more maintainable LMS environment that can better support future training, instructors, and user growth.
AI Platform Updates
We continued improving the AI environment and user experience this month. A user interface improvement was promoted through development, staging, and production.
AI and coding support services also received troubleshooting and maintenance to help users connect to and use RH-provided tools more effectively.
Planning also continued for expanded AI agent use. This is intended to move users beyond simple LLM chat and toward more practical AI workflows, including coding support, document creation, tool integration, and personal assistant-style use cases.
Identity, Access, and Automation Updates
Maintenance automation was improved for identity and access services this month.
The new process supports more repeatable updates, safer maintenance steps, and improved operational consistency. Supporting documentation was also added to explain the general update flow, validation process, backup expectations, and post-update checks.
This helps make identity and access maintenance faster, safer, and more repeatable.
Data Center and Infrastructure
Infrastructure work this month included virtualization updates, reliability reviews, and hardware maintenance.
One system received a hardware upgrade. Another planned hardware improvement was reviewed but postponed due to compatibility concerns. Hardware improvements remain a priority because power reliability, system stability, and capacity planning directly affect user-facing services.
A backup connectivity issue also occurred following an infrastructure interruption. The issue was corrected, and backup behavior remains under review.

Incidents Reviewed
Infrastructure Interruption
A service interruption affected part of the environment this month. The issue was reviewed, service availability was restored, and reliability improvements were applied.
Follow-up work will continue around monitoring, capacity planning, power stability, and recovery validation.
Hardware Reliability Review
A hardware improvement was completed on one system. A separate planned hardware change was postponed after compatibility concerns were identified.
Follow-up work will continue around hardware planning, reliability improvements, and future upgrades.
Backup Connectivity Issue
A backup connectivity issue occurred after an infrastructure interruption. Connectivity was restored, and backup behavior was reviewed.
Follow-up work will continue around backup monitoring, alerting, and recovery validation.
Lessons Learned
Reliability planning is a core part of platform operations, especially as AI and training workloads continue to grow.
Automation improves security response time by making maintenance faster, more repeatable, and less error-prone.
LMS modernization should be planned carefully so user data remains secure and users do not experience unnecessary service disruption.
Coming in June
Next month, we will focus on three major areas:
AI Agent Workflows: Expanding AI agent capabilities so users can move beyond standard chat and use AI for coding, document creation, tool integration, and personal assistant-style tasks.
Hardware and Reliability Improvements: Continuing system reliability improvements to reduce the risk of service interruptions and improve platform stability.
User and Volunteer Outreach: Increasing communication with users and potential volunteers to grow activity, improve buy-in, and strengthen the Redacted Hosting community.
Thank you for continuing to support Redacted Hosting. May’s work focused on reliability, maintenance, automation, and modernization planning. June will continue that momentum with AI agent improvements, hardware reliability work, and stronger user outreach.
End of monthly roll-up.
Redacted Hosting team.
