Update 04/2026 — Security, Reliability, AI Improvements, and Training Progress

April was a month of security hardening, platform maintenance, AI improvements, training progress, and infrastructure reliability work. We continued improving the core systems behind Redacted Hosting while realigning around our original mission: hosting ideas, mentors, instructors, infrastructure, labs, projects, and production services for trusted users in our community.

April Highlights

  • Strengthened network and reverse proxy access controls to reduce unnecessary direct exposure of internal services.
  • Fixed networking issues affecting VPN connectivity.
  • Updated the LMS, SSO services, collaboration tools, and development desktops.
  • Completed the E-commerce course for the LMS site.
  • Successfully mitigated suspicious WordPress activity targeting a hosted site.
  • Improved Open WebUI supportability and restored administrative access after account-state troubleshooting.
  • Edited branding and improved the user experience for the AI chat interface.
  • Completed additional AI model testing, including newer Qwen model work for LLM chat use.
  • Installed a second UPS and split server nodes across both UPS units after overload alerts.
  • Maintained 100% uptime for the month.
  • Tuned context length for AI LLM chat.

Security and Reliability

This month included important improvements to the public access path for hosted services. We refined edge and container-level controls so public-facing applications follow a more controlled ingress model. This strengthens our zero trust posture and helps protect backend systems from unnecessary exposure.

We also resolved networking issues related to VPN connectivity, improving secure remote access and administrative reliability.

A hosted WordPress site also experienced suspicious automated activity targeting the XML-RPC endpoint. The activity was stopped, and additional protections were added, including Cloudflare rule improvements, XML-RPC restrictions, plugin cleanup, and account security guidance.

As a reminder, we strongly encourage all users to enable two-factor authentication wherever available.

LMS and Training Updates

The LMS was updated to the latest version, improving the security and reliability of the training platform. SSO was also patched quickly after notification, helping maintain secure access across Redacted Hosting services.

The E-commerce course was completed this month, adding another useful training resource to the LMS site. This course supports practical learning around online business, product listings, digital storefronts, fulfillment, branding, and customer experience.

AI Platform Updates

We continued improving the AI environment by validating Open WebUI health, persistent storage, service configuration, and backend model visibility. A login issue was resolved after confirming it was tied to persisted account state rather than a service outage.

We also completed additional model testing and resolved configuration issues with newer Qwen models, making the latest Qwen model usable in the LLM chat environment.

The AI chat experience was also improved through branding and user experience edits, helping the service feel more polished and more aligned with the Redacted Hosting platform.

Data Center and Infrastructure

To improve resilience, we upgraded the UPS layout supporting the server racks. After identifying overload conditions on one UPS, a second UPS was installed and server nodes were split between both units.

This improves power distribution, reduces single-device load pressure, and better supports higher-demand workloads such as AI model inference.

Coming in May

Next month, we will focus on three major areas:

Tech Refresh: Improving virtualization, node performance, power reliability, and storage capacity for future growth.

LMS Redeployment: Planning a cleaner, faster, and more secure LMS deployment.

AI Platform Improvements: Investing additional time into better models, better workflows, stronger branding, and an improved user experience.

Thank you for continuing to support Redacted Hosting. April’s work strengthened the foundation of the platform, and May will continue that momentum with modernization, security, and reliability as the main priorities.
