Update 01/2026 — Identity Governance and a Strong Start to the Year
January marked a pivotal month for Redacted Hosting, as we laid the groundwork for enhanced operational efficiency and security in 2026. Our focus centered on two critical areas: strengthening documentation governance and implementing more reliable, centralized authentication mechanisms across our ecosystem. The overarching objective is to minimize user friction while simultaneously enhancing security, consistency, and repeatability behind the scenes.
Documentation Standards and Internal Controls
We initiated a comprehensive standardization of how internal and restricted materials are labeled and managed within our knowledge base. This endeavor involved implementing consistent header and footer notices (e.g., "Confidential – Redacted Hosting"), defining a standardized watermark format for PDF documents, and establishing guidelines for capturing screenshots to better regulate the sharing and storage of restricted content. These measures were compiled into a documentation style guide, and our Wiki templates were updated with notice blocks to ensure that all new internal documents adhere to these baseline standards.
Expansion of Centralized Authentication
On the identity management front, we continued to onboard users to our centralized authentication experience while enhancing overall reliability. We successfully completed the integration and validation testing for Wiki SSO (Single Sign-On), subsequently refining the user experience to eliminate login loops and reduce unnecessary clicks. Additionally, we upgraded our SSO stack to the latest version, verifying the improvements to bolster stability and further minimize user friction.
Collaboration SSO Integration (Successful)
A significant milestone achieved this month was the integration of SSO into our collaboration platform using a front end panel with the OpenID Connect user backend. We addressed redirect URI validation issues and implemented strict claim mapping to ensure secure and predictable authentication processes. Notably, we enforced a security control that prevents unauthorized auto-provisioning by requiring account binding exclusively to pre-existing collaboration users. This measure reduces credential sprawl, strengthens access control, and establishes a repeatable integration pattern applicable to future services. Furthermore, we enhanced auditability by drafting an internal wiki runbook, facilitating faster, cleaner, and more easily validatable SSO integrations in the future.
